In the paper simulation of the indentation of copper crystal was carried
out using the method of molecular dynamics. We investigated the effect
of dislocations on the acoustic emission under the impact of a single
element (indenter) with a certain amount of material. Forces acting on
the sensor and internal structure of sample were analyzed. According to
the results, a significant change in the signal is associated with the
emergence of dislocations on the sample surface. The development of
plastic deformation in the volume of the sample also leads to a change
in the acoustic signal, which is shown by the results of the Fourier
analysis.
