Twin boundaries are traditionally considered as straight interfaces aligned with plane invariant to twinning shear. However, inclinations of twin boundaries from ideal positions are often observed in materials with hcp structure. Such inclinations can be caused by faceting of twin boundaries. Development of 1 0 (1) over bar 0/(0 0 0 1) facets is demonstrated for 1 0 (1) over bar 2 twin and 1 0 (1) over bar 1/(0 0 0 1) facets for 1 0 (1) over bar 1 twin. It was shown that observed types of facets can be explained in terms of disconnection mechanism of twin growth. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
