The transfer of heat through the breeder region of a future fusion reactor is a key component of its thermal efficiency. Development of advanced ceramic breeder materials based on Li2TiO3 seek to exploit its ability to accommodate significant non-stoichiometry, however, it is not clear how deviations for the 50:50 mix of Li2O and TiO2 will affect key properties of the material, including the thermal conductiv-ity. Therefore, in this work molecular dynamics simulations are employed to examine how the thermal conductivity of Li2TiO3 changes with stoichiometry. The results suggest that while there is a significant decrease in the thermal conductivity at room temperature, at higher temperatures the impact of devia-tions from stoichiometry is limited.(c) 2022 Elsevier B.V.
