Processes of plastic deformation in the interfacial zone of metals with different lattice types are examined using the molecular dynamics method. The investigation is performed on alpha iron, copper, and alpha titanium under two loading conditions, namely, uniaxial compression and interfacial shear. Structural rearrangement at the interface is analyzed depending on the interfacing metals and the lattice orientation of the grains relative to the loading direction. The results obtained show that the mechanism of plastic deformation is governed not only by the material and its strength properties, but also by the anisotropy of these properties due to the lattice orientation.
