For induced solidification, changes in the shape and structure of the seeds are always ignored. During the solidification of Cu, we found that Fe seeds changed from spherical to rod-shaped ellipsoid, while the structure changed from BCC (body-centered cubic) to FCC (face-centered cubic); Cu and Ni seeds remained spherical without structural changes. The deformation direction of Fe seed is <100> crystal orientation, and the FCC Fe seed and Cu lattice match. The deformation degree of Fe seed is independent of the growth morphology and temperature, and is inversely proportional to the fraction of BCC atoms.
