Title: The Hidden Gem of LAMMPS

Presenter: Axel Kohlmeyer

Affiliation: International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste

Abstract: One of the lesser known and underestimated features of LAMMPS is the dump image command. Allows to render quite high quality snapshot images in parallel during the course of the simulation. Particularly for very large simulations or calculations running on external machines, this provides an easy to use options to validate the correctness of a system configuration or generate high-quality animations without having to transfer huge amounts of trajectory data and having to deal with their idiosyncrasies or external visualization tools. The presentation will show several examples of images and animations and explain how they were created.
