Walk details

Leisurely nature ramble in the woods along the banks of the Rio Grande. Trail starts at entrance to the Rio Grande Nature Center (RGNC), (park info). Distance 1.5 miles. Flat terrain, good trail, warm but pleasantly shady. Bring: sun-block, hat, water, walking shoes Time estimates: Drive there: 15 minutes Gather the group: 15 minutes Actual walking: 1 hour

We will gather at the trailhead on Candelaria Post-walk dinner at Flying Star Cafe on Rio Grande (C)

• Driving Directions to RGNC, 2901 Candelaria Road Northwest:
• 0. From UNM Continuing Education Building (A)
• 1. Take University Boulevard north for ~1 mile.
• 2. Turn left on Candelaria
• 3. Continue on Candelaria for ~4 miles
• 4. When Candelaria ends, you are at RGNC (B)
• 5. Park on a side street (Trellis Dr)
• 6. RGNC car park closes at 5 pm, so don't go in there.
