Dr. Bulatov is a Senior Scientist in the Materials Science Division of LLNL. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics and Mechanics of Materials at the USSR Academy of Sciences. He has worked in various roles at LLNL for 20 years, including as Edward Teller Fellow. His research interests include: Physics and mechanics of materials strength and degradation, microstructure and its effects on materials properties, crystal dislocations, efficient mathematical algorithms for computer simulations of complex processes, high-performance computing, uncertainty quantification and data sciences in engineering. He has published extensively on these topics and is the editor of several leading journals in materials science.
